We were in Barcelona in transit from Cyprus to a conference in Malaga, Spain. Although we only spent one full day there, it was very different than I expected. I'll be honest: I think it's quite overrated. Barcelona is very modern, so it doesn't have that old European feel that many visitors might be hoping for or I was expecting. There are still lovely old buildings, tons of history, and delicious food. Take a visit and make your own conclusions!
During our conference in Malaga, we got to take a day-trip to the tucked-away mountain town of Ronda. What a treat. Ronda is perched on the edges of cliffs, overlooking sweeping valleys below. A cascading waterfall, deep ravines, and a gorgeous, ancient bridge adorn the center and provide a sight like you've never seen. There is so much history in this city and plenty of lovely streets and alleys to roam. Visit Ronda and soak in the rich Spanish culture!
